    The Oatmeal- Sugar battle

I am starting a gentle battle with Dahlia over how much sugar she uses
in her oatmeal. I am starting to give her a small bowl of sugar with a
small spoon instead of the entire sugar container.

The results – she uses less sugar but also eats less oatmeal. The
    battle will continue.

    Joe’s organization tip

When you can't find any nail clippers in the house buy a lot of
clippers on ebay. Problem solved? Nope Joe complained yesterday he
    couldn't find any.

    Flowers a bloomin.

We have been walking down and up the big hill at Talus. It is part of our training for the ” Race for the Cure” in June. The flowers are at the bottom of the hill in Talus.

    Same project different schools

Dahlia and Monti were so excited to see that they had made the same leprechauns at school. Dahlia’s is the top one.

  • Yoga

The simple task of relaxing at the end of yoga class can be very
    difficult. Here is what happens:

We are all laying down on our mats eyes closed with lavender scented
bean bags over them. We first breathe- in and out, in and out. Inhale,
    Exhale.

OK , I can do this

The yogi says “Imagine your favorite place, a place you are
    comfortable and safe in.”

My media room playing Rock Band – No that is not the kinda place they
want – a beach somewhere – No I really don’t care for beaches – My hot
    tub – That will work!

Imagine the sounds of your favorite place, she says.

I hear the cars on I90 (Joe hates that sound)…now the girls are
yelling at each other. OK this is not working. I need to find a
favorite place that works….I brainstorm for ideas and immediately
eliminate every idea I come up with. I am purely frustrated. I decide
I have no favorite place! Just forget it.

I guess I need some work on the meditation part of yoga but I do a
    darn good “tree pose”.

    Uncle’s Games in Bellevue

There is a table with games set out to try. We sampled a few games. We ended up coming home with “Hey, That’s my fish”. Papa won the first game.

  • Full-day kindergarten

    Full-day kindergarten

They can’t provide full-day kindergarten to all the parents that
desire it so they do a lottery to select which students will get it
next year. They do the lottery live in front of the parents. Note
Dahlia made it at #32. They only have funding for half-day so all full-
day students need to pay $320 a month tuition. Not sure if full-day is
the best option for D but at least we have the option.

I questioned Dahlia to see if she was kindergarten ready by asking her what her favorite letter was. Very confidently she answered “100”.
