After seeing Cinderella at the Kirkland Performing Center the girls
went down to the stage to get autographs from the cast. When Dahlia
was asked what her favorite part of the play was she said, "The end."

Can you ever get enough rocks?

A couple weeks ago I threw a shiny egg shaped rock into Monti’s lunch bag with a note saying “Watch out for the goblin egg!” That afternoon at school I had a couple other students coming up to me asking if I had any more goblin eggs. Since then Monti and Dahlia have been handing out goblin eggs to all their friends at school.

At the market both of the girls bought donut shaped rocks. Monti will use hers as a monocle to see the world of fairies. Dahlia will just dream that hers is a Krispy Kreme.

We made it to the Tulip Fest with about 45 minutes of time to enjoy the flowers. The fields of tulips were quite impressive. It is too bad we didn’t have more time to spend. I think Dahlia needs a haircut soon.

It was sunny and about 64 degrees. The girls were complaining about it being too hot. You can see they were dressed in their summer best.

She fell in love with the fancy edges.

Monti’s school held their first multi-cultural night. Every child received a passport with pages listing different countries names and a question regarding each one of the countries. At each family sponsored station the student would learn the answer to the question and receive a stamp for that country. At the end when their passport was complete they received a world globe pencil sharpener. They learned quite a few interesting things in the evening. The Philippines are made up of 7,107 islands and St Patrick drove the snakes out of Ireland.

In the middle of the event all the IVE students went up on stage and sang a really cute song about the children of the world saying hello.

“Hello, bonjour, buenos dias!
G’day, guten-tag, konichiwa…..
Ciao, shalom, do-brey dien
Hello to all the children of the world! “

Monti was very serious as she sang. She later told me she was being “proper”.

Here is Dahlia with her friend Katie. Katie was wearing a traditional Korean dress. Her family performed a Korean bowing ceremony for everyone.

Lumpy wasn’t acting normal for several days. He acted like he was drugged and he was vomiting. After a night at the vet with full blood work-up, urinalysis, and x-rays the doctor determined he was severely constipated. They gave him an enema and sent him home. Unfortunately I am still skeptical that this is the only problem with him.

Dahlia has been in just one of those moods.

Dahlia is nearly 5 years old and I am still a touch worried about her going by herself on the ride. Then I see things like this and I think maybe I am a bit overprotective.

The woman running the carousel kept yelling at this mother to stand next to her baby instead of riding her own horse. The mother never reacted….I guess she was enjoying her ride too much to hear.

Dahlia just loves the carousel rides. This time she wanted to do
everything herself. She climbed on up, buckled herself in, and told me
to go. The lady running the carousel saw the dejection in my face and
said to me in her coarse smoker’s voice, "Don't worry Mom they always
come back when they're hungry."
