Monti was excited to find some new head gear out on the beach. She
scored a set of pretty pink swim goggles. She discovered if you don't
have a headband to wear, a pair of goggles will work to keep the hair
out of your face.

The water was closed at the Indiana Dunes due to dangerous riptides.
Luckily the temperatures were in the low seventies and the kids enjoy
playing in the sand more than swimming.

The young kids decided to climb the biggest hill in the park so they
could run all the way down the large dune to the beach.

Dahlia walked Glacier, my sister’s Dalmation, who gets lots of attention from the children. They all love the spotted dog. I thought it looks like Dahlia could be water skiing in this picture the way her body is positioned.

When my family goes to the Indiana Dunes they bring a parade of dogs with them.

I tried to catch a photo of our sleeping arrangement before everybody woke up. We had lots of snuggling opportunities with 7 people sleeping in a row.

Once the little ones were up it was time for all of us to get up. It was about 6:15 when they decided to get up. We were all a little too chilly to get out from under the covers.

I didn’t want to do scary stories because I needed the kids to get some sleep but we did do scary faces. They loved being able to see themselves right away on the iPhone. The kids also thought it was great when Uncle Tyson brought out the JiffyPop. Dahllia was nervous the foil bubble would pop and it would rain down popcorn. Sounds delicious!

Gabe was our expert fire builder. He used no matches or lighter. He
was able to start a fire using a leftover hot coal from the previous
campers. Blowing on the coals played a key role in getting a flame. I
couldn't help of thinking of numerous survivors struggling to get just
a spark. Next time he will get only flint and a machete.
