I was a chaperone for the kindergarten field trip to Remlinger Farm. I
am starting to really get a complex about the amount of kids these
teachers assign me for field trips. I consistently get the smallest
group of kids. Several times I have had only two in my group with one
of them being my own. I do wonder if the teachers see something in me
that says “she can’t handle too much.”
They should have passed out earplugs at the door for the school Bingo
night. Grade school kids loaded up on candy and popcorn can get very
rowdy. Sadly none of us got our chance to scream “BINGO”.
Cher in concert was better than I expected. I am so glad I got to see
her perform. It is very inspiring seeing her at 62 still looking great
and having fun. The costumes during the show were fabulous. Thoughts
of making mini versions for the girls of the dresses we saw onstage
kept popping up in my head. Although I believe some of the
outfits Cher was wearing might violate those dress codes again.
I was forced into a little gambling when Carl had me select 5 numbers
for the Keno game at the restaurant. As usual Carl did well with his
numbers and I lost every game.
Vegas is full of extravagant eye candy for all ages. Seeing sights
like these in the Bellagio really made me want to have the kids with
me.
After a heavy night of dancing, Friday night in Vegas was a little
more subdued. We took a taxi over to the Palms to dance at the club
Rain but we passed on going in for $25 a head. I needed to eat and
nothing vegetarian friendly was open at 1 am. KidsQuest, a Vegas
babysitting service, was my savior. They sold us microwaveable cheese
pizzas that totally hit the spot. The woman working there told us
stories of parents that drop their kids off every school night so they
can gamble until KidsQuest closes. Somehow I always leave Vegas with a
bit of a bad taste in my mouth.
There was no line at security so I had time to spare before boarding
my plane so I decided to get a quick manicure. It took a little longer
than the 20 minutes so I got to the gate when they were doing final
boarding. My nails were completely wet so I had to play the helpless
female asking some man to put away my luggage for me. I found it a
little funny that during my years of traveling with 2 kids under 3 I
never asked for help but the idea of messing up a $20 manicure humbled
me to ask for assistance from strangers.
The girls met Monti's friend Knicole at the farmer's market to help her sell her homemade pot holders. The last Saturday of the month is a kid's day at the Issaquah market which means they can get booth space for free to sell their goods. Anyone wondering about the spelling of Knicole? Her parents are from New York and they are big Knicks fans.
I had a chance to play with the Rock band 2 vocals this weekend. When
I achieved gold star ratings on my first time through "So Whatcha
Want" and "Give it Away" on expert I knew something was up. Either I
had become an excellent rapper or the vocals for talkie songs had
become very easy. Unfortunately I will have no post-kids career as a
rapper, the truth is Rock Band 2 has made it almost impossible not to
score 100%. I found this video showing someone getting 100% to Beastie
Boys by simply reciting the Declaration of Independence during the song.
