    Monti writes a message

Monti is taking her turn signing the log book for this geocache
treasure. Usually you can take an item left in the box . In return you
add something for the next treasure hunter. This box was full of
simple trinkets like hair clips, balloons, and pens.

  • Girls’ night out

    Girls’ night out

We try to go out every once in a while for a girls’ night out. We went
to the wine bar Sip this time. We were expecting 9 women but only 4
showed up. That did not stop us from having a great time. These are my
friends Kathy and Marie. Marie was Monti's kindergarten teacher last
year. It is amazing how enjoyable political conversation is when
everyone is basically on the same page.

  • More girls’ night out

    More girls’ night out

My friend Renee agreed to be the designated driver for the evening. I
guess 3 of the 4 people were designated drivers so maybe I should just
call myself the designated drinker. However I did not live up to my
    title.

This picture confirms my nagging fear of the evening. The low couch
and dress combo was a dangerous one.

  • White glove laundry service

    White glove laundry service

I introduced the girls to folding laundry this week. Monti did it with
full style of course. Dahlia helped in the only way she could figure
out – getting laughs. By the way she loves this picture.

They argued the whole time over who produced more dirty clothes.
Dahlia inherited all size 5 clothing to prove Monti's point that she
did not go through the most clothes. Monti , by far, produces the
    highest quantity.

  • Splinter patrol

    Splinter patrol

Each girl takes one of Knicole's feet to tackle. Monti is so focused
on the task at hand. They are masters at removing splinters because
they insist on going barefoot outside. Future surgeons perhaps?

  • Tea party

    Tea party

Wish my mom was here for the tea party. We had plenty of goodies
including warm bread, butter, and jam, cookies, and fruit.

After the tea they took a jar of honey upstairs to feed the brownie in our house while also carrying ketchup and salsa to protect themselves from the goblins. The explanation for the strange behavior lies in the fact that Monti just finished reading and then watching Spiderwick Chronicles.

    School picture (Take 2)

Some parents complained that kids changed too much during the school
year so they added an additional school picture in the spring to
supplement the one done in the fall. They call it their personality
    shot.

They are currently casting for a young Fiona for the pre-
broadway run of the musical Shrek here in Seattle. They want the girl
to be between 8-10 so it is not for Monti. But if it was we figured
she already has the headshot for the part with the green dress and the
    red hair.

  • Planting seeds

    Planting seeds

We decided to try starting some of our flowers this year from seeds. We planted some zinnia, asters, cosmos, marigolds and coleus. The coleus seeds were about half the size of poppy seeds. Those went quickly as they were hard to only add 2-3 in a container.

  • Joe’s doctor visit

    Joe’s doctor visit

There is a new drug that Dr. Brandabur said Joe can use if Remicade
stops working. It is a drug that has been used mainly on MS called
Tysabri . As the doctor put it " We now have another horse in the
barn." In addition he wants Joe to get a bone density test. Joe
started to ask questions about it and then stopped saying he didn't
need to know. Dr Brandabur then said " You might not want to know but
Elsa will want to." I like the fact that he is so dead on.
