Lots of snow, lots of skiing

My Dad and I skied every other day while he was in town. Each time we went there was more powder. Joe joined us the last time we went. It was snowing so hard it was nearly like skiing with your eyes closed. I had to just make sure my legs were ready to act as the perfect shocks, ready to hit whatever bump was in their way.

    Taking my Dad skiing

My dad and I snuck off for the slopes as soon as I dropped the kids
off at the bus stop. It was nearly a bluebird day up at the summit. In
skiing lingo a bluebird day is a beautiful sunny day after an
overnight snowfall. I am trying to learn all the skiing lingo I can
while I am up on the slopes. Another interesting phrase is "yard
sale". It is a wipeout fall in which skis, poles, hat, etc. end up
    strewn along the mountainside.

    Fresh powder

On Thursday the mountains received about 20 inches of snow so Friday
morning I headed out skiing by myself. It was very pretty outside and
the summit was empty. It was so different skiing in fresh powder.

    Ski lift

The girls have now mastered the ski lifts. Joe and I got a chance to
ride up with each of them on Sunday. Dahlia is so comfortable that she
told me she almost fell asleep on the long quad lift up the hill.
Their legs are so cute in the way they go straight out instead of
    bending at the knees.
