I love the fact that Dahlia’s quilt square picture has two suns. It
may be a subconscious message from her body demanding more vitamin D.

Dentist checkup
Both girls have very small mouths for all their teeth. After looking
at an xray of Monti’s front teeth the dentist is pretty sure that
Monti’s front teeth won’t come in for a long time. The two lateral
teeth are blocking the way for her 2 adult front teeth to come in. She
is recommending that we extract the next two baby teeth so that the
adult teeth will have a clear path. If her jaw doesn’t start catching
up with her teeth we will have to do more work to expand her jaw. This
can be done using retainers. -

HSM3 tryouts
The play they are doing at school this time is High School Musical 3 . At the tryouts the drama teacher encouraged everyone to try out for every role. He was able to get a better idea of what role he would give each of the kids. Dahlia finally decided she would try doing one of the plays. Monti, for some reason, decided to act like she was terrified to talk in front of people. Seeing Monti act this way completely worked against Dahlia getting up there. After a little threatening conversation from mom, Monti went up and started saying some lines. I literally had to walk Dahlia up to the stage and stand next to her while she did her audition. Dahlia was thrilled to find out she was cast as one of the Wild Cat cheerleaders. Monti congratulated her with ,”I’m happy for you that you got a better part than I did.” Oh… the drama of having 2 girls so close in age.

Last minute egg coloring
We were so busy spring break going from one play date to another that we never had time to color eggs. Saturday evening 20 minutes before bedtime we quickly colored a dozen eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide.

Gilman Village egg hunt?
In the downtown shopping area of Issaquah they hold an Easter egg hunt for kids and adults. For the adults they add coupons and free samples to their eggs. This year we decided to go. I believe calling it an egg hunt is mislabeling the event. Kids stood in line at store doors to collect their eggs. It was more like trick-or-treating for Easter eggs but the kids had fun loading up their baskets.

Obsessed with the planets
Monti has been obsessed with learning about space. She drew pictures of all the planets and taped them to the patio door. We went to the library so she could check out a book of every planet. At the park she had one of her friends play the sun while Dahlia was Saturn and she
was Uranus. Dahlia was thrilled because she got a chance to demonstrate her ability to walk (orbit) around while hula hooping. Monti explained that she would spin her hula hoop on her arm because Uranus is tilted so it’s rings look different than Saturn’s which is convenient because Monti still can’t hula around her waist.
