Cookalicious party
Dahlia headed out to her second birthday party of the weekend. This
one was at a cooking class in town. They each made their own pizzas
and cupcakes. The cupcakes were made from scratch. -
Katie’s birthday party
Monti watched a movie with her friend in their car out in the parking lot while Dahlia played inside the Kid’s Bounce. Dahlia is usually the one who has to sit on the sidelines while Monti goes to fun birthday parties.

Eric Carle project
As part of the Art Docent program at IVE, Dahlia's class put together a
mural imitating Eric Carle's books. First the class painted large
pieces of paper with lots of different colors and patterns. Second we
pulled students over to our table in the back of class to cut out shapes from the paper they had made earlier. Then we took the shapes they had cut out and
we stapled them to the hallway bulletin board in the appropriate spot. The final village looked great. Eric Carle himself would be impressed with their work. -
Fresh powder
On Thursday the mountains received about 20 inches of snow so Friday
morning I headed out skiing by myself. It was very pretty outside and
the summit was empty. It was so different skiing in fresh powder. -
Painting the bathroom
While I painted the bathroom the girls did their own painting. Monti
switched from painting to making figures out of clay. -
Joe and Monti
We received the photos form the Father-Daughter Valentine’s Day dance. I love this picture but Monti may need to buy better quality accessories to go with her outfit next year. -
Greek salad
This month the parents of the 2nd graders were responsible for the
staff appreciation luncheon at school. We were told to bring in an ethnic dish.
Many people brought in their family specialty. Did I bring lutefisk or
sauerbraten? Nope…I brought in a Greek salad. Some asked if my
husband was Greek. I answered, “No but my roommate in college was
Greek.”
