    No need for toys.

The girls love to play with almost anything that doesn’t fit into the category of toys. Here are some of Dahlia’s favorite things to play with candles, fruit shaped pottery, and silk pillows.

  • Little Pea

    Little Pea

Monti chose the book “Little Pea” to have her teacher read to the class. They all enjoyed the funny story about a pea who hates candy. His mom insists that he eat 5 pieces of candy before he can get his spinach dessert. Thanks to Aunt Mary for buying it for us.

Monti’s teacher is due at the end of April with her first baby. She has only a couple more weeks with her class before she has maternity leave.

Monti brings Dahlia as her show-and-tell

When Monti introduced Dahlia to the class she said, “My sister goes to preschool and all they do is play, play, play not like us. All we do is work.” It sounds like Monti’s first grade program may be as demanding as Uncle Mat’s PhD program at Duke.

    Dahlia’s egg hunt at school

Dahlia is busy searching. The kids are still at the age where things
stay calm. Give them one more year and there will be a lot more greed
involved. Joe says these events "just breed bad behavior".

    Monti can’t stay back

Monti couldn’t stand sitting back and watching the slow pace of
searching. She had to go in for the older sister consult.

I love her hat with “DAHILA” written so nicely. Why didn’t we give her an easy name to spell like Ava ?

“You did a good job little sister!”

  • Monti’s yoga

    Monti’s yoga

This is Monti's second yoga class. Her 2 best friends are also in the
class with her. She was "star" student this week so she carried the
class mascot, a giraffe named Spot , with her throughout the week.
That is her friend Knicole next to her.

    Hiking around doomed trees.

Note the blue ribbons in the left of the picture mean the trees are marked for clearing. This is
where the park by our house will be. They start clearing it out later this spring.

We took Joe for a short lunchtime hike. His belly button felt fine.
