A conversation with Monti

Tonight Monti and I had some alone time. I asked her if there was one thing she would change about Daddy what would it be. She answered, ” I wish he didn’t have to work so much.” When I asked about myself she answered, ” I wish you weren’t so crabby all the time.” (I will need to work on that) I then asked her to come up with one thing she would change about herself. Without much thought at all she said, “I wish my eyes weren’t so ugly.” She explained that her eyes are not like anyone else’s eyes in her class. She hates how dark they are. She wishes they would sparkle more.

She was so sad that no one compliments her eyes. I asked her, “Well what do you get compliments on?” She said, “Only compliments about how smart I am.”
